Email Signature Extractor is a Chrome browser extension that helps users extract and organize contact information from websites they visit. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Data Collection

What we collect: This extension extracts the following information from websites you visit when you click the "Extract Now" button:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Company names
• Website URLs where the information was found
• Date and time of extraction

How we collect it: The extension only extracts data when you explicitly click the "Extract Now" button on a webpage. It does not automatically collect data in the background.

3. Data Storage

Local storage only: All extracted contact information is stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local). This means:

• Data never leaves your computer
• Data is not transmitted to any external servers
• Data is not shared with third parties
• Data is not accessible to the extension developers

Storage limits: The extension automatically maintains the most recent 500 contacts to prevent excessive storage use.

4. Data Usage

The extracted data is used solely for the following purposes:

• Displaying contacts in the extension popup
• Filtering contacts by date ranges
• Exporting contacts to CSV, TXT, or PDF formats when you request it

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your data. Period. Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted anywhere, there is no data sharing of any kind.

6. Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following permissions:

• storage: To save extracted contacts locally on your device
• scripting: To inject content extraction scripts when you click "Extract Now"
• activeTab: To access the content of the webpage you're currently viewing when you click "Extract Now"

Important: We use the activeTab permission, which means we only access the webpage you're currently on when you explicitly click the "Extract Now" button. We do not have automatic access to all your browsing activity.

7. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Clear all contacts: Click the "Clear" button in the extension to delete all stored contacts
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all stored contact data

8. Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. All functionality is self-contained.

9. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Your data is protected by your device's security measures
• There is no risk of data breaches from our servers (we don't have any)
• Your data is as secure as your computer

10. Children's Privacy

This extension is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the extension listing and in this document with an updated "Last Updated" date.
